ANTONIO MORENO GLAZKOV

Antonio Moreno is a dynamic trumpet player, composer and bandleader based in the Netherlands. A graduate of the Conservatory of Amsterdam (Bachelor 2022, Master 2024), he has developed into a versatile and innovative artist.

As a bandleader, his project Nausyqa has received critical acclaim, with performances at major festivals such as North Sea Jazz and Eurosonic, the release of two albums, and a nomination for the prestigious Edison Award. In 2024 he received the Best Soloist Award at the Getxo Jazz Festival competition. He has also appeared as a guest with leading artists in the contemporary Flamenco Fusion scene, including Antonio Lizana, Los Aurora and Juanfe Pérez. For the past three years he has also been organizing the Flamenco Biennale jam session at the Bimhuis.

Antonio is also a sought after collaborator. He has recorded with Brad Mehldau and performed with artists such as Harmen Fraanje, Yoran Vroom, Oene van Geel, Mark Schilders and Sjahin During. His work includes a wide range of ensembles, including Afro Anatolian Tales, Punt Judith, Flatland Prayer and Marmoucha Orchestra.

Alongside his performance career, Antonio works as an arranger and composer. His commissions include a piece for the Gaudeamus Festival (2022), performed by the New European Ensemble and B.C. Manjunath, and a work for Kamerkoor JIP (2023). He currently contributes to Afro Anatolian Tales, focusing on composition and arrangements, and is part of the artistic team of the Marmoucha Orchestra.

Antonio’s artistic vision is to create immersive and inspiring music that takes listeners on a meaningful journey through richly colored soundscapes. Critics have praised his music as powerful and atmospheric (Peter Slavid, Hayes FM) and ambitious and successful (Howard Mandel, Jazz Journalists Association).
